hello there, friend,
today was the very best kind of day... i started the day with meditation for the first time and then got up and walked. when i got back, i continued to rotate the laundry, hanging sleeping bags and wetsuits on the line. i drank coffee and read to my son when he woke up. i folded and folded and folded laundry. i edited and posted pictures, helped kids with homework, and unpacked most of our camping gear and cleaned the first floor. the sun was shining, it was warm enough to open the windows and doors and feel a soft breeze throughout the house. i cut forsythia and daffodils and placed them in my line of vision. by early afternoon i had made a grocery list.
but best of all, it just felt good to be home. to enjoy the creature comforts of running water, a refrigerator, and a washer and dryer. to smell clean sheets and sleep on a comfortable mattress. to appreciate the texture and color of worn wooden floors and carpets. for days after a camping trip i will notice the things i take for granted most days. there's really no place like home...
