hello there, friend,
after a long long wait, i received a copy of a book in which a quilt of mine was included. the subtitle of this book on improvisation quilting is: a guide to creating, quilting, and living courageously.
a few years ago, when i first decided to start sewing again and specifically to start quilting, i knew next to nothing about what i was doing. but, i had no fear of making mistakes. every time i created, i learned something about the process, or myself. and it always worked out.
somehow in between now and then i've become afraid... or i've started to second guess myself creatively. your word for the year has been nudging me to think about my creative pursuits... and now this book, which is full of inspiration both in quilting and in life are reminding me to create despite my fears...
"maybe you don't trust yourself to make the right decisions. but with each decision you make you are a step closer to doing things your unique way... improvisational patchwork is an opportunity to discover and know your own mind..."
