Hello there, friend,

It was a pleasant surprise to see that this first week of November is going to be a sunny and warm one. Losing that hour at the end of the day can be so hard -- the milder temps help. Yesterday, we piled in the car after school and headed to the park before we lost the daylight. My husband asked what we'd make for dinner and I just shrugged. We'd figure it out. All I knew was that we better get outside.

After reading about you turning inward during this month of gratitude, I thought, Do I do that? I can't remember. This is the first year that both my kids can have conversations with me and use the bathroom on their own. This is the first year I can trust them to be alone for a few minutes in the backyard. It's the first year I haven't dreaded my husband leaving for a week to go hunting. And for all of that, this November I am grateful. Perhaps a year from now I'll remember this as the first great November.
