Hello there, friend,
Today began very early. I stayed in bed for a few minutes, then tiptoed downstairs and turned on the Christmas lights. Last night was all eggnog and wrapping presents, some of which are tucked beneath the tree. While we wrapped, my husband and I talked about the magic of Christmas, how real it is for both children and adults, how it has little do with Santa and a lot to do with love.
This morning, I sat quietly by the tree, waiting for water to boil so I could make coffee. I took a deep breath, thought of the day ahead, and felt deeply satisfied. Even when everything feels so hard, there's still this: the magic of love and the hope of a new year. Love and hope. Right now that's all I need.
PS. We want to say thank you to all of our readers! We wish you blessings this holiday season and a happy new year! We'll see you here again on January 4.
