Hello there, friend,
Do you remember a few years ago when Betty White was on Saturday Night Live? She made a joke that there was no Facebook in her day, that it was called phone book. And everyone laughed because it's true. I think about that a lot when I think about my life. I don't want my life to be online. I want a real flesh and blood, rich and full walking around life. I want a life that doesn't need the internet to be happy or fulfilled.
It's a fine line, though. My work is primarily on the internet. I keep in touch with people through the internet and I've even met friends through it (including you!). So it's not that I want to do away with it entirely. But I hear you when you say you slowed down, tuned in to your real walking around life, and made dinner instead of scrolling the interwebs. It's that choice to focus on what matters. In each moment, we have that choice. Sometimes it's to be online; others to step away. I always want to be conscious of that.
